I went to visit my little sister this weekend. She lives in the country so it's a pain to get there but I'm glad I went. The big reason was to see her house which she is working on and has now moved into. This is a good thing and a long time in coming. It's not completely done yet but still nice. Notice I am sitting comfortably on the floor, that didn't happen in the old house. The new place was clean, well heated, painted and the plumbing was all in working condition. I tested it myself. The outside of the house is still looking a little strange. Two sides are painted white, one side is blue and the fourth is pink. Personally I like the pink best but I think I may be alone in this opinion. It is a vast improvement in their living conditions and I'm proud of her for all the work that they have done. I don't want that to sound condescending, she and her husband (and some noteworthy others) have done amazing things with that house. The house wasn't the only reason to visit.

The photogenic reason is my nephew. Who is so cute and, now that my sister has stopped eating milk, eggs and soy products, a very sweet baby. I have to resist posting too many pictures of him. I knit the cap he is wearing and my sister dressed him in the clothes I bought as a gesture of appreciation. They don't really match but I was pleased anyway.

So we took this baby for a walk. The giant purple thing he is wearing is a thrift-store find that Grandma couldn't resist.

We were a little worried that he might get to warm but he didn't object. This baby is strangely hypnotized by the outdoors and was very subdued the entire walk. I have know other babies like this and I always wonder why get so quiet when outside. Is it that things look strange or amazing or is it just too bright? Scary maybe? Who know what goes through their minds. Anyway the weather was nice and it was good to be outside. Some of the hills are green with winter wheat but for the most part it was very brown. There is a husband who was around all day but I guess I didn't bring home any pictures of him. He does exist! And sometimes he is photographed. And I am fond of him as well as my sister and nephew.

The hat is super cute when it is on the baby and not on someone's hand. Oh yeah, and our nephie-poo isn't too bad either.
