In my yard

The tulips are long dead and we decided that the area they occupy should be flowers all summer long. So we bought some impatiens.

These poor flowers had some of the worst root lock I've ever had to deal with. It feels so bad to rip them apart and know that some of those poor little roots are tearing. We are a little late in the season to buy flowers from the hardware store. But a week later I am happy to say that they are doing great.

Here is Tusk enjoying some time with his dear people. Or some of his dear people. My downstairs neighbor tells me that he like to think he has two homes. Do you think he will love them more because they feed him tuna at odd hours of the morning when he come calling? However, I think he eats less at my house because they feed him. This means I have to buy less cat food.
Another exciting event in the yard was the sudden summer storm we had the other day. There was hail that tore up my poor spinach and a ton of rain.

The rate of precipitation exceeded the rate of infiltration resulting in Hortonian runoff. We had a stream come from the front lawn around the side and into the back. It was ankle deep and warm. We played in it a bit before it faded away. It did leave behind the debris.
