Like everyone else I also had an exciting Memorial Day weekend. It was a family camping adventure.

One of my favorite parts was a hike to boulder cave. I helped carry the baby because I'm the nicest sister in the world. Yeah, Nathan took his shirt off. I think this is to insure an even tan.

This is one view of the cave. The dark triangle in the background is the entrance. It was a pretty hot day but inside the cave it was very cold; I could see my breath. I brought a jacket and a headlamp and was grateful for both.
There were other fun parts. Just hanging out at the camp was fun. Nathan insisted on a fire every night so I ate tons of roasted marshmallows.

The boys found sticks and waved them around all weekend. Weston couldn't find his on the last day and there was almost a meltdown.
Ian, Nathan, Clover and I took a little day hike next to the river.

I don't think that there has been much trail maintenance along this stretch of the river yet this year. This is the trail, right under the snow. This log was set up pretty high and was almost fun to climb over. It also meant that this was not a well traveled trail. So it was quiet and scenic.
All in all it was a good weekend.

It was fun wasn't it?! These memories and many more is what I will hold on to to get me through the boys time away from home.
