Weston did his decorating solo and was a bit heavy handed with the candy. I get the feeling that he expected to eat it when we were all finished. But we never ate them. I think this is what bothers me most about it. Next year I'll try ginger bread people; easier, less ugly (my tower was very ugly) and intended to be eaten.
For Christmas Ian got me cozy slippers and if you feel bad for the slippers I was using before you can use them when you come visit. Mom got us a lovely chair!
Or to put it another way, Mom came through on a promise from two years ago that she could easily, definitely fix my favorite old chair. This was one of those long running family jokes that my chair had disappeared forever into the chaos of Mom's sewing room. I did a number of favors with this as the promised reward. Mom should be an organized crime master mind.
And what post would be complete without mention of the chicken coop. Maybe you thought I finished it? Or that I gave up in frustration/shame? No! I am fighting on and am genuinely hoping to get chickens in the spring. Hmmm... a project that seemed smaller than it really was and took longer to finish than anticipated? Quiet, you!
My dad is in town, quite randomly, and helped me cut and install the windows as well as the tin roof.
The rustic charm grows.
