May flowers?
Every year there is a late snow and it never stops being shocking. This year it was it was on May 5th. It started to snow in the morning, right on time for my walk to school.
At first it was all "hehe, it's snowing in May!" I ignored the fact that it was cold and wet and melted snow was dripping off my nose. Instead, I tried to enjoy it before the heat and dry of summer sets in. I was savoring life. But it kept snowing and even started to stick.
And it kept snowing! It snowed for a couple of hours and made my back yard look like a winter wonderland in May.
It was kind of funny to see the flowers, which have finally started to bloom, and the green grass covered in a layer of snow. It was not funny that all the little plants that had just started to grow in the garden are now totally dead. I need to buy new seeds and replant the carrots and lettuce I put down a couple of weeks ago. Maybe I was a bit early but who would have expected snow in May!
Shout out to Ian! Thanks for taking pictures of the snow for me.
