Student research

Today was the student research and creative works symposium at school. Little did I know at the beginning at the quarter that independent study students are expected to present a poster. So, even though I don't really have any data and only expected results, I presented a poster. It was not as bad as I expected. No one really reads the posters anyway and it was an excuse to dress up. Good thing I brought my camera along; I'm the only one in the geology department that did. This is me and the faculty member I did research with, Dr. Nezat.

This is a fellow classmate with her mentor, Dr. Orndorff. I love how excited/happy she looks about this.
I got a free t-shirt (bright neon green) and a thumb drive. Exciting as this cost me nothing and hopefully will look lovely on a resume. And Dr. Nezat took her three independent study students out for lunch. What a super prof to study under!

Awesome t-shirt, thumb drive and lunch? Wow! When you told me about the symposium somehow I knew you wore your new skirt. Your classmate may look excited, but you look nervous. At least your poster LOOKS professional! Way to go, you rock!
