Some one borrowed

I used to borrow my niece in the summer and take her to the farmers market but the farmers market ended and I haven't done much kid borrowing since. However, last weekend Nathan visited and we took my oldest nephew roller skating. Since neither of us wanted to drive him all the way home that night we just kept him (with permission, of course). It was very nice. We fed him ice cream and let him stay up late. Ever the indulgent aunt and uncle.

I made breakfast the next morning and having a Wes at the table made it feel so domestic. Very different from just two adults. And because it was a special occasion we opened a special jam.

We had crepes and gift jam. I would tell you what kind of jam precisely but the name is long and I can't remember it. But the verdict is in and it is yummy. Wes tried the other jam on the table then declared this one best. Thanks Kat for yummy home canned goods. Keep 'em coming.

Weston didn't bring sleep over clothes so I loaned him my shirt in the morning and it came very close to fitting. The sleeves were a little long and that's it. Ian says that children make one feel older because they provide a measure for the passing of time. I understand what he means. I remember the day Wes was born. We went down the weekend after and I held him, a tiny baby, in my arms. Now he is definitely not a baby anymore. He doesn't just run and talk. He thinks and roller skates and formulates opinions. I can't express how amazing I think this is. So I guess I'm trying to say that we'll grow old regardless and spending time with children is wonderful.

I'm glad everyone liked the jam! I do have to say that it's Vanilla *Bourbon* Peach... so hopefully we aren't corrupting minors with preserves. I hope not!
